2025 年 4 ⽉ 4 日下午三点，在位于纽约布鲁克林肯特街 127号，历史悠久的 Churchof the Ascension里办了由 Effetto Arte 基金会组织的“国际奖—纽约新大师”颁奖典礼。此次活动聚集了 来自 20 多个国家的60 多位艺术家、评论家和收藏家，庆祝当代视觉艺术的卓越和创新。

今年的获奖者包括王馨曼博士，她是一位国际生态艺术家和艺术教育家，她因探索艺术、自然和 文化记忆之间关系的跨学科作品而获得认可。王馨曼是今年唯一一位获得该奖项的中国艺术家。

Sophia Xinman Wang Wins the "New Great
Masters in New York" International Art Award
On April 4, 2025, at 3:00 PM, the “International Prize – The New Great Masters in New York”,
organized by the Effetto Arte Foundation, was held at the historic Church of the Ascension at
127 Kent Street in Brooklyn, New York. The event brought together more than 60 artists, critics,and collectors from over 20 countries to celebrate excellence and innovation in contemporary visual art.
Among this year's honorees was Dr. Sophia Xinman Wang, an internationally recognized eco- artist and art educator, celebrated for her interdisciplinary work exploring the connections
between art, nature, and cultural memory. Dr. Wang was the only Chinese artist to receive this prestigious award.
Her featured work, titled “Life and Coexistence Series - Healing beginnings with love”, and
"Life and Coexistence Series – Snow Leopard: A Gaze Through Time, Space, and Science",
was created in early 2025. The snow leopard’s gaze captures a moment of deep vigilance and introspection, inviting direct engagement and compelling viewers to reflect on the fragile
balance between humanity and the natural world. Behind the image, quantum physics formulas are inscribed alongside Dongba script — an ancient pictograph writing system still used in Dr. Wang’s home region of Yunnan, China.
This thoughtful interplaybetween scientific notation and spiritual symbolism createsalayeredvisual dialogue—betweenmodernity and antiquity,intellect andinstinct, empiricalinquiry and cultural heritage.Elements such as fleeting scientific symbols, timelessindigenous texts,and pristine snow-cappedlandscapes converge topose a central question:Do scientificadvancespromote harmony with nature, or do theydeepen thethreatsfacedbyendangeredspecieslikethe snowleopard?
By embedding these visual and conceptual tensions, Dr. Wang’s work transcends
representation. It becomes acall to action— prompting urgent reflection on wildlife
conservation and climate change. Through her *Snow Leopard* series, she blends art,
anthropology, and environmental advocacy, urging audiences to appreciate not only the beauty of this elusive species, but also their own role in shaping the future of our planet. Dr. Wang is
not only an ecological artist, but also serves as the Executive Director of the UNESCO-IMAJ
international project "Nature and Art-Conservation of Biodiversity Global Art Competition" and
has led a number of international art activities aimed at improving people's reflection on environmental issues and the conservation of biodiversity through creative expression.
The award-winning works, including Dr. Wang’s, were also exhibited at ARTEXPO New York 2025, held from April 4 to 7. Organized by the Effetto Arte Foundation, the exhibition offeredthousands of visitors the opportunity to experience contemporary art from across the globe.
