小提琴家周颖(Nancy Zhou)即将于今年秋天加入天津茱莉亚学院常驻教师团队。本月,她将来访天津茱莉亚,举办音乐会、大师课,并参加汇聚音乐节的演出。
1月13日,周颖将携手天津茱莉亚常驻教师、钢琴家娜塔莉亚·卡图科娃(Natalia Katyukova)呈现特别演出。届时,她们将带来一场穿越三个世纪的音乐对话:开场是勃拉姆斯《G大调第一小提琴奏鸣曲》,全曲笼罩在一种秋日般温暖而略带忧郁的氛围之中;克拉拉·舒曼《三首浪漫曲》是一首精致的小品,是作曲家如诗般的私语;巴赫《E大调第三小提琴奏鸣曲》,则完美融合了严谨的复调结构与深情的旋律线条;最后是伊萨伊《e小调第四小提琴奏鸣曲》,我们将登上20世纪初小提琴艺术的炫技与哲学之巅。
1月17日,周颖还将开讲大师课,与大家一同探索小提琴的独特魅力。

小提琴家周颖拥有二十多年的舞台表演经验,她先后与斯德哥尔摩皇家爱乐乐团、慕尼黑交响乐团、香港管弦乐团、新泽西交响乐团、那不勒斯爱乐乐团、圣地亚哥交响乐团、堪萨斯城交响乐团等国际知名乐团合作。作为一位极富热情的独奏家和教育家,她活跃于世界各地的音乐节,如韦尔比耶音乐节、统营国际音乐节、马尔旺国际音乐节等,并多次受邀开设大师班与工作坊。
多年来,通过一系列在中美两国间开展的重要合作,周颖不断挖掘文化遗产与人性本质。她曾与新泽西交响乐团及指挥家张弦合作,在纽约林肯中心爱丽丝·塔利音乐厅演绎赵季平《第一小提琴协奏曲》,与安妮-索菲·穆特在美国各地合作首演陈银淑《大华彩》,并与拉荷亚交响乐团合作完成了薇薇安·冯《第一小提琴协奏曲》的美国西海岸首演。近期,她与罗格山谷交响乐团合作演出了陈其钢《悲喜同源》,并携手上海交响乐团、广州交响乐团、中国爱乐乐团和呼和浩特爱乐乐团开展中国五城巡演。
2024年10月,周颖录制了首张独奏唱片《STORIES (re)TRACED》,作为她近年来艺术探索的回应。该专辑于2025年6月由Orchid Classics厂牌发行,广受好评。唱片收录了四首极具代表性且彼此关联的小提琴独奏曲目,包括巴托克的《小提琴奏鸣曲》。
2009年,周颖在华盛顿获得约翰森国际青少年弦乐比赛一等奖和最佳委约作品演绎奖,同年又在青岛斩获中国国际小提琴比赛冠军。2018年,周颖还先后摘得哈尔滨国际音乐比赛和上海艾萨克·斯特恩国际小提琴比赛冠军。
周颖出生于美国德克萨斯州的一个音乐世家,在父亲的启蒙下学习小提琴。后师从新英格兰音乐学院米里亚姆·弗里德教授,并在哈佛大学修读文学专业。2019年起,她担任比利时伊丽莎白女王音乐教堂学院签约艺术家。2023-2026年,她在旧金山音乐学院任小提琴教授。
More than 20 years since her orchestral debut, Zhou has collaborated with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Munich Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, Naples Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony, and Kansas City Symphony, among others. A passionate soloist and educator, Zhou has performed at festivals, including the Verbier Festival, Tongyeong Music Festival, and Marvão Festival, and given many master classes and workshops.
Over the years, the violinist’s deep interest in cultural heritage and the humanities has been reflected in a series of notable collaborations across the U.S. and China. In collaboration with the New Jersey Symphony and conductor Xian Zhang, she presented Zhao Jiping’s first violin concerto at Alice Tully Hall and gave the premiere of Unsuk Chin’s Gran Cadenzafor two violins with Anne-Sophie Mutter across the US; and, in partnership with the La Jolla Symphony, gave the West Coast premiere of Vivian Fung’s Violin Concerto No. 1. Most recently, she performed Chen Qigang’s La joie de la souffrancewith the Rogue Valley Symphony and embarked on a five-city tour with major orchestras of China, including Shanghai and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestras, and the China and Hohhot Philharmonics. In October 2024, she recorded her debut album, STORIES (re)TRACED, as a response to these artistic explorations. The critically acclaimed album features four seminal and inextricably connected works for solo violin, including Béla Bartók’s Sonata, and was released in June 2025 on Orchid Classics.
Zhou has earned numerous top honors throughout her career. In 2009, she won First Prize at the Johansen International Competition for Young String Players in Washington, D.C., along with the award for Best Commissioned Work. That same year, she also took First Prize at the China International Violin Competition in Qingdao. In 2018, she was awarded First Prize at the International Music Competition Harbin. Later that year, she claimed First Prize at the prestigious Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition.
Born in Texas, Nancy Zhou hails from a family of musicians and began the violin under the guidance of her father. She went on to study with Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory while pursuing her interest in literature at Harvard University. Since 2019, she has served as an Associated Artist of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and from 2023-2026, was Professor of Violin at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Grammy-nominated, Russian pianist Natalia Katyukova served as an Assistant Conductor at the Metropolitan Opera and a vocal coach at The Juilliard School, where she has devoted much of her time to the singers and pianists in the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. With a commitment to emerging artists and young professionals, she currently works as a collaborative piano faculty member at The Tianjin Juilliard School.
Katyukova has performed with instrumentalists and singers such as Sir Bryn Terfel, Anna Netrebko, and Irina Arkhipova, Ildar Abdrazakov, and at festivals and summer programs including the Glyndebourne Opera Festival, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Ravinia Festival, and the Tanglewood Music Festival. She has appeared in recitals throughout the U.S.A., Canada, Argentina, Japan, Europe, and other countries. She was nominated for a Grammy award for Harold Meltzer’s record, Songs and Structuresin 2019.
A native of Klin, the city of Tchaikovsky, she was invited numerous times to play in the House-Museum of Tchaikovsky on the composer's own piano. She was featured as a solo pianist with renowned orchestras such as the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra under Vladimir Fedoseyev, the “Haydn Orchestra" with Ola Rudner, and the Moscow State Symphony led by Dmitry Orlov.
Previously, she served on the faculties of Texas Wesleyan University, the University of Fine Arts (Russia), the Conservatory “Monteverdi" (Italy), and the Natchez Opera Festival. She has accompanied for events and master classes led by Renée Fleming, Malcolm Martineau, Sir Thomas Allen, Roger Vignoles, José van Dam, Martin Katz, and Warren Jones.
Katyukova is the recipient of many awards, including the Zonta Club Award and a Russian Arts Foundation grant. She is a prize-winner of the MTNA National Piano Competition (USA), the “Ettore Pozzoli" International Piano Competition (Italy), the “Carlo Soliva" International Piano Competition (Italy), and the International Chamber Music Competition (Ukraine). Katyukova's performances have been broadcast on WQXR in New York, WFMT in Chicago, and Radio Bavaria and Radio “South-West" in Germany.
A graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory, The Juilliard School, and the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, her teachers included Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman, Brian Zeger, Ken Noda, and Lev Naumov.
