Luo Gongjiu has been fond of calligraphy since childhood and has been absorbed in the study creation of poetry and books. Starting from Liu Gongquan, he has further studied Yan, Ou, Tang Kai, Wei Stele, Han Li, Jin Wen Jia Gu, and Han Jian, with a wide range of models and a preference for the style of the Eight Great Mountain Monks. He has been taught by famous teachers as Luo Jizu, Wang Yicheng, Zhou Xifei, Lin Kesheng, Gan Yuchun, and Xu Benyi. In 985, he systematically studied the aesthetics of calligraphy by Ouyang Zhongshi, and in 1993, he entered the advanced study class the Calligraphy Association of China for further study. He has obtained the "China Federation of Literary and Art Associations and Calligraphy Association First Class Calligher Professional Title", the member and director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, as well as the certificate of "The First Class Calligrapher Professional Qualification of People's Republic of China" issued by the China Federation of Literary and Art and the National Professional Title Review Committee. His journey in calligraphy art began with the imitation of Liu Gongan, followed by extensive exploration of Tang-style regular script masters such as Yan Zhenqing and Ouyang Xun, and further in-depth study of Weii, Han Li, Jin Wen, oracle bones, and Han bamboo slips, eventually developing a particular fondness for the calligraphy style of the Eight Eccent of Yangzhou.
