郑重宾：以水墨语言探索自然空间的生命力 | 第三届GDMoA年度艺术家学术提名展·获提名艺术家

广东美术馆自主策划的“GDMoA 年度艺术家学术提名展”，作为馆内重点展览项目，始终聚焦当下中国及海外华人艺术家的革新思考与实验。本届学术提名展以小型个案研究的方式，提名并呈现五位入选艺术家的作品，深刻反映了当代艺术的演化与发展。
郑重宾是备受瞩目的华裔当代艺术家。他以实验水墨为媒介，融合传统绘画技法与当代艺术理念，深入探索物质本质、空间感知与文化交融。他的艺术实践跨越传统与当代，融合东西方文化精髓，展现了对艺术本质的深刻洞察。郑重宾尤其注重材质的实验性探索，通过不同材料的运用，构建起传统与现代、个体与自然之间的深度对话。
1961 年生于上海，活跃于全球的华裔艺术家。学生时期在杭州中国美术学院研习传统绘画，重用笔、讲墨法。1980 年代投身当代艺术的浪潮，开始实验水墨的工作。1989 年，他前往旧金山艺术学院学习装置、表演以及观念艺术。
在系统地研究和分析了形象、质感、空间、动势、材料、几何形态这些东西方绘画所共有的基本要素后，郑重宾的作品使人直观地感知到物质的生命力。基于其对现象学和新唯物主义哲学的研究，郑重宾将其观念引入装置和影像领域。绘画、建筑、光、空间被揉合在一起，体现出纯粹的物质感，而这一物质感最终也将化为对空间的体验。
Born in 1961 in Shanghai.
Zheng Chongbin was educated as a classical Chinese figurative painter at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. In 1989, Zheng received a fellowship from the San Francisco Art Institute to study installation and conceptual art.
Systematically exploring and deconstructing their conventions and constituents — figure, texture, space, geometry, gesture, materiality, Zheng has developed a distinctive body of work that makes the vitality of matter directly perceptible. Based on his study of phenomenology and the new materialism, Zheng Chongbin introduces his concepts into the field of installation and video. Painting, architecture, light, and space are kneaded together to embody a pure sense of materiality, which will ultimately be transformed into an experience of space.

在郑重宾四十年的艺术生涯中，他融通中国传统水墨和西方抽象绘画，通过墨、丙烯、水和宣纸的相互作用，郑重宾的作品表现的是秩序（包括有机生命和人类意识）的生成及其不可避免的消解。他不做客观性地描绘，而是借助材质和自然动能，让类似神经元、血管、树枝、山脉、河流、海岸线等的结构自然生成。
In his four decades of artistic career, Zheng Chongbin has skillfully merged traditional Chinese ink and Western abstract painting. Through the interaction of ink, acrylic, water and xuan paper,Zheng Chongbin's works express the generationof order (including organic life and human consciousness) and its inevitable dissolution.Zheng utilizes materials and natural kinetic energy
to allow structures such as neurons, blood vessels,tree branches, mountains, rivers, coastlines, etc.,
to be generated naturally, across his paintings,video works, and light space installations.
