2005年成立于中国浙江杭州
现工作于杭州
由浙江大学、浙江省文物局编纂出版的“中国历代绘画大系”（以下简称“大系”），是迄今为止对全世界范围内中国历代绘画精品佳作收录最全、出版规模最大的中国古代绘画图像文献。它包括《先秦汉唐画全集》《宋画全集》《元画全集》《明画全集》《清画全集》五大断代集成，共计67卷248册，收录了海内外263家文博机构的纸、绢（含帛、绫）、麻等材质的中国古代绘画藏品12000余件（套），涵盖了绝大部分传世的“国宝”级名画。其中，包含中国国内122家文博机构9000余件（套）作品；国外141家3000余件（套）作品。这是人类历史上第一次，由一个国家对分散于全球的本国古代绘画文献进行全面系统的搜集整理，并以目前最高清的印刷技术手段进行出版传播，使之成为了全世界共享、共用的艺术图像资源。

"A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings", compiled and published by Zhejiang University Press and the Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, is by far the world's most comprehensive collection of Chinese paintings dating to China's premodern period. A total of sixty-seven volumes with 248 books, making up "A Collection of Pre-Qin Period to Tang Dynasties Paintings", "A Collection of Song Dynasty Paintings", "A Collection of Yuan Dynasty Paintings", "A Collection of Ming Dynasty Paintings", and "A Collection of Qing Dynasty Paintings", cover a sum of more than 12,000 works (sets) of Chinese paintings on paper, silk, linen, and other materials from 263 museums and other cultural institutions worldwide, of which there are 9,000 sets in 122 domestic collections and 3,000 sets in 141 overseas collections, representing a large percentage of extant national treasures. Historically, the compilation and systematic recording of such a comprehensive collection of ancient paintings remains unprecedented. Moreover, this project's publication and dissemination of these works, using the highest-definition printing technology, offer a unique opportunity for this collection of artistic heritage to be shared and utilized by the greater world.

“中国历代绘画大系”历时20年，共收录了12405件/套中国古代绘画珍品中，其中有3000余件/套分藏于中国以外的海外机构，占收录总作品量的1/4。本次展览中甄选100件“大系”收录的海外藏绘画，如唐韩干《照夜白图》、五代董源《溪岸图》、宋郭熙《树色平远图》、元倪瓒《虞山林壑图》、明董其昌《江山秋霁图》、清吴历《墨井草堂消夏图》等，进行数据可视化展示，挖掘其背后的流传历程，以图证史。
档案展示区由展柜区和数字大屏两个部分构成。展柜内呈现海外收藏画作已出版页面，展柜中的文献档案呈现针对该幅画作已进行的的研究及该作品的流传经历等内容。观众可以随时抽取柜中文献档案观看，并了解画作的背景和现状。数字大屏以数据可视化的形式，展现遴选画作的流传经历、艺术家流派等讯息。
The project titled "A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings" has assembled an anthology of 12,405 pieces/sets of ancient Chinese paintings over the course of 20 years. Over 3,000 of these artifacts are preserved in institutions outside China, representing approximately a quarter of the entire collection cataloged. This exhibition curates a selection of 100 paintings that are held overseas, featuring eminent works such as Han Gan's Night-Shining White from the Tang Dynasty, Dong Yuan's Riverbank from the Southern Tang Dynasty, Guo Xi's Old Trees, Level Distance from the Song Dynasty, Ni Zan's Woods and Valleys of Mount Yu from the Yuan Dynasty, Dong Qichang's River and Mountains on a Clear Autumn Day from the Ming Dynasty, and Wu Li's Whiling Away the Summer at the Ink-Well Thatched Hut from the Qing Dynasty. The exhibition aims to illuminate the storied provenance of these artworks through data visualization techniques, offering a visual documentation of their historical trajectory.
The archive display zone comprises a showcase area alongside a digital screen. Within the showcase, pages of overseas collected paintings that have been published will be presented. These documentary archives offer insights into the scholarly research conducted on these paintings, alongside a detailed account of their circulation history. Visitors can interact with these documentary archives, gaining a deeper understanding of the background and present circumstances of the artworks. The digital screen adjacent to the showcase enriches this experience by presenting the history of circulation, artist genres, and other relevant data about the selected paintings, rendered through data visualization.
